Within its research activities in plant science and biotechnologies, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) has been collecting and documenting in its Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN) Department for about 10 years microbial strains from all over the country.

As these strains can be of interest for other research centres, universities, biotechnology companies, etc., LIST has decided to make these collections of strains available to academia and industry via licencing agreements. The first collections available is the Luxembourg Fusarium Collection which comprises a large number of different strains.

Following the work of LIST's experts to propose an online collection dedicated to Fusarium in Luxembourg, the European Database Fusarium has been created within the framework of the FP7 European project MycoRed (Novel integrated strategies for worldwide MYCOtoxin REDuction in food and feed chains).
